The Urbano I to T CHS witnessed an important event on 18th August 2024 as residents gathered to elect the society’s governing members for the next five years. This election, conducted by the esteemed Election Officer Mr. S.S. Rathod, was marked by high anticipation and community engagement, shaping the future of the society.
Election Day: A Community in Action
The election process began early in the morning at 8:00 AM and continued seamlessly until 6:00 PM. Residents showed commendable enthusiasm, with close to 300 voters participating in the election. Voting was conducted through traditional ballot papers, ensuring a transparent and secure process.
The Candidates: Panels and Symbols
A total of 24 members contested in this election, representing different visions for the society’s future. The main contest was between two panels and an individual candidate:
- Football Panel: Represented by 19 members, this panel aimed to bring teamwork and collective progress to the forefront. Their symbol, a football, resonated with the idea of collaboration and energy.
- Diamond Panel: Consisting of 4 members, this panel symbolized clarity, strength, and brilliance, with the diamond symbol reflecting their commitment to transparency and resilience.
- Individual Candidate: One member contested independently, with the symbol of CCTV, emphasizing vigilance, security, and oversight in the society’s management.
The Voting and Counting Process
As the voting process concluded, the ballot boxes were opened in a public setting, ensuring complete transparency. The counting process commenced under the watchful eyes of representatives from each unit, reinforcing the integrity of the election.
The results clearly favored the Football Panel, which secured a decisive victory by a significant margin. The members of the Football Panel were officially declared winners by Mr. S.S. Rathod, marking the beginning of their tenure in managing the day-to-day operations of the society for the next five years.
Looking Ahead: Formation of the CST and Handover
With the election results finalized, the Election Officer has scheduled the CST Formation Event on 31st August 2024. This event will take place behind closed doors, where the CST (Central Supervisory Team) members will be elected. Following this, the formal handover process from the Provisional Committee to the newly elected Managing Committee will commence.
